Overview:
Hue, which always have been a cultural and historical important center for Vietnam, is one of the main tourist attractions in Vietnam. In this trip you will visit the most attractive sites of Hue such as the Khai Dinh and Tu Duc Tombs, the Thien Mu Pagoda, the Citadel, as well as a boat cruise on the beautiful Perfume River and enjoy lunch on board.
Detail itinerary:
At 8h00, together with your guide, you commence the tour from your hotel by a short transfer to Khai Dinh Tomb. Western culture and influence began to seep in Vietnam during Emperor Khai Dinh’s rule (1916-1925), making the architecture of the Tomb as an example of Vietnamese "neo-classicism". Emperor Tu Duc, who’s Tomb you will visit after leaving Khai Dinh Tomb, had the longest reign of all 13 Kings in Nguyen Dynasty (1847-1883). Being an expert in Eastern philosophy and literature, Tu Duc ordered the construction of his Tomb with poetical features which were blended with the nature landscape. You will then go to the nearby Port and get on the “Dragon” Boat for a cruise on the beautiful Perfume River. After enjoying lunch onboard, you will disembark and visit the Thien Mu pagoda, where was the center for rising against the South Vietnamese government in the 1960’s. From the Pagoda you have a transfer to the Citadel, where the Nguyen dynasty Kings ruled. Part of the Citadel has been renovated after being bombed during the American war. You will be back to your hotel in the late afternoon.
