Route: Sapa - Thanh Kim – Thanh Phu – Sin Chai – Ban Ho – Sapa
Overview:
On this trip you will have opportunity to meet several different minorities who only live at this area of Sapa, such as Tay and Xa Pho. Even though they live close to one another, the Tay is one of the most advanced minority meanwhile the Xa Pho still maintain the tradition of being nomadic.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Sapa – Thanh Kim – Thanh Phu – Nam Cum – Sin Chai (-,L,D)
You will commence from Sapa by a transfer to a trekking point near Thank Kim. From here you start the walk on a small trail running downhill towards Thanh Phu suspension bridge, which is set over the beautiful Muong Bo River. The walk is through the rice paddy terraces, hill sides and you have many opportunities to enjoy magnificent valley view and encounter with some animals like water buffalos, goats or mountain pigs, which belong to the nearby Tay and Red Dao minorities, but are living their wild life. You will then head up to Thanh Phu village where you have lunch in a local house. After lunch, you head to Sin Chai village via Nam Cum village, both are inhabited by Red Dao minority. You will stay tonight in a local house in Sin Chai village and be attracted by the wonderful hospitable atmosphere of the Red Dao.

Day 2: Sin Chai – Nam Nhiu – Nam Than – My Son– Nam Toong – Ban Ho – Sapa (B,L,-)
After having breakfast in a peaceful atmosphere, you will start the trek by having an easy walk to Nam Nhiu village which is also inhabited by Red Dao minority. From here you will have an opportunity to visit Nam Than village, the only village in the area inhabited by the White H’mong minority. You will then walk back to Nam Nhiu village for lunch. The afternoon trek is harder. You first descend to My Son village, inhabited by the Xa Pho ethnic minority - one of the smallest minority groups who make up around 2% of Sapa population. Later, you trek on a small trail uphill to Nam Toong village from where you will enjoy again the amazing view of the large valley which Muong Bo River runs through. You will then have lunch in a local school.
In the afternoon, with a soft descent, you will arrive at Ban Ho village. Ban Ho is the area’s largest village which is spreading along the two banks of Muong Bo Rivers where the Tay minority still live as their ancestor life on traditional stilt houses. Your vehicle will then pick you up at the village and transfer you back to Sapa.
