Overview:
Cuc Phuong, the biggest and the most diverse National Park in Vietnam with a huge variety of rare fauna and flora in limestone mountain forest. The Endangered Primates Rescued Centre (EPRC) is a perfect place to see many kinds of rare primates such as Langur, gibbon and Loris all over Vietnam, many of them are under threat of extinction.
The trek on small trail through the jungle to Khanh village of Muong ethnic minority is very good opportunity to learn their rich tradition, lifestyle and culture.
The boat trip in Kenh Ga is another opportunity to contemplate the beautiful countryside scenery of Vietnam and see the daily life on the water of Vietnamese in this region.
Itinerary
Day 1: Trek through the National Park to Muong Ethnic Minority village (-,L,D)
Your trip commerce with a 3 hour drive to the Cuc Phuong National Park. Upon arrival, you will visit to the EPRC, where the rare primates of Vietnam are reared and rescued. Having seen the primates, you can then start your trek through the dense, grass jungle valleys. You will stop to have a picnic lunch at the giant ancient tree with its 45-metre height and 1.5 meter diameter. You will then enjoy the beauty of the forest, fauna and wildlife on the way to your destination: the Muong village of Khanh, where a shower or a swim in the nearby river and a delicious dinner are waiting for you.
After dinner, all the friendly and hospitable villagers in their traditional dress will gather in the stilt house, making an unforgettable party of folksong singing, dancing and rice wine drinking.
Day 2: Walking and cruising through the rural beauty (B,L-)
Having said goodbye to the hospitable villagers, you will start your walk today. During the 1-hour walk, you will have an opportunity to witness daily life in the rice fields and in other Muong villages. An optional local house visit will give you more experience of the local culture. At the main road, your bus will be waiting to transfer you to the small town of Nho Quan. There you will have lunch in a basic local restaurant before transferred to the nearby river of Hoang Long, where you will board on boat and start the cruise up the river. This will give you plenty of time to relax and enjoy the natural, rural beauty and local daily life. You will be able to visit Van Trinh cave, with its perfect smooth walls, rock formations, before heading back to Hanoi. You will arrive back to Hanoi at around 18h00.
