Day 1: Hue Arrival (-,-,D)
Upon your arrival at the airport/ train station, your will be met and transferred to hotel in Hue Center. In mid afternoon you will commence the half day trip by riding the cyclo through the beautiful small street of Hue to the Citadel, where the Vietnam last Dynasty Kings ruled. Recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, the citadel, namely from outside to inside: Capital Citadel, Royal Citadel and Forbidden Citadel, with the help from your full-informative guide, will surely bring you back to one of the golden time of Vietnam history. The cyclo will then bring you back to Hue’s modern life with a visit to the nearby Dong Ba Market, the right place to witness Hue’s food and culture. Here you will also impress with the maintenance of ancient characteristics, with the local handicraft - conical hats as a sample. Leaving the Market behind, you will head for a nice restaurant, where you will enjoy Hue’s tradition food. The cyclo will be waiting for you at the restaurant for transferring you to the hotel.
Day 2: Hue City tour (B,L,-)
Hue, which always have been a cultural and historical important center for Vietnam, is one the main tourist attractions in Vietnam.
At 8h00, together with your guide, you will have a transfer to visit the Khai Dinh, which built in early of the 20th Century and has different style to other Royal tombs. The next visit is to Tu Duc Tomb. Emperor Tu Duc had the longest reign of all in the Nguyen Dynasty. His tomb, constructed as his wishes, was a fairy land with poetical features. You will then go to the nearby Port and get on boat the Dragon Boat and start the cruise on the beautiful Perfume River. After you enjoy lunch on board, you will disembark and visit the Thien Mu pagoda, where was the center for the rising against the South Vietnamese government in the 1960’s. From the Pagoda you will have a transfer to the Chi Lang Ancient Streets. You will have a walk along the old house before ending the tour today at your hotel.
Day 3: Hue – My Son – Hoi An (B,L,-)
You will depart early for Danang with a break on the top of Hai Van (Sea and Cloud) Pass to enjoy the picturesque view of the sea, sand beach and mountain. In Danang you visit the Cham Museum, where you can see the vestiges of the Cham’s once glorious past, which are displayed in ten showrooms named after where the pieces were discovered. The next visit is to Marble Mountain, which is famous for its amazing landscape. Here you also visit the stone village of Non Nuoc for learning how the local skillful sculptors create marble produces. After having lunch at a local restaurant in Danang, you have a transfer to the ancient ruins of My Son. The once glorious holy land of the Champa Kingdom at My Son is Vietnam‘s most important ancient historical site. Situated about 75km southwest of Danang, the towers and temples which inhabit this area provide an insight into the spiritual and religious beliefs of the Cham people. Unfortunately, many of the relics have been damaged by years of war but the site has often been compared to the ruins of Angkor in Cambodia, Pagan in Myanmar and Ayuthaya in Thailand. Indeed the site has been designated a World Heritage site by UNESCO. Leaving My Son you have a transfer to Hoi An. You arrive in Hoi An in the late afternoon and check in your hotel for tonight.
Day 4: Hoi An Traditional Villages (B,L,-)
You will commerce the full day excursion today by a short walk down to the harbour of Hoi An. Here you will get on board a wooden boat and have a up stream cruise to Thanh Ha, a local Pottery village on the bank of the Thu Bon River. Thanh Ha village is famous for making tiles, pots, vases. The old tradition and skills are kept, and the local contractors are the only one who can restore bricks, tiles and floors in the old town of Hoi An.
After having a walk around the village, you will take the cruise across the river and continue going up stream to the Carpentry village of Kim Bong. Kim Bong has over the centuries had a huge influence in the architectures of the ancient town of Hoi An. Here in Kim Bong the old carpenter skills are kept alive and stilled used for restoring the old buildings in the old town of Hoi An. From Kim Bong village you will take a bicycle ride around the Island, enjoying the peaceful and beautiful surroundings. After one hour of bicycle ride around the island, you will get onboard for the cruise down stream to Thanh Nam fishing village, where you will have a walk around the small town, visiting a small exhibition near the river. You will also be able to see the old traditional fishing tools used generation after generation; some of them are stilled used by the local fisherman. You will then head back by boat to the ancient town of Hoi An.
Day 5: Hoi An (B,-,-)
