Luang Prabang adventure offers the best of Laos. This is a great way to experience local daily life and the unique mixture of different ethnic minorities along the mighty Mekong river.

Day 4: Cycling and trekking to the Hmong village.
Day 5: Trek through forest and minority village to Luang Prabang

On your arrival, you will be met by your local guide and driver for your hotel transfer. The remainder of the day is yours. A walk uphill to the Phou Si Mountain to enjoy the fresh air and watch the sunset over the beautiful city is highly recommended. Overnight in Luang Prabang. (-/-/-)
An exciting day of various activities awaits! At 9am, your guide will meet you at the hotel for a cycle ride uphill northeast Luang Prabang for about 90 minutes. The ride passes through local villages and forests. On the way, pay a visit to the tomb of Henry Mahout, the French explorer who rediscovered Angkor Wat. Arriving at Elephant village, you will enjoy a one hour elephant ride on a howdah (elephant seat). Next up, you will board a boat on the Nam Khan River to the Tad Sae Waterfall (best visited between July to October). Here you can swim and relax in the clear water.
Returning to the village, lunch will be provided at the Elephant Village Restaurant. After lunch, gear up and paddle down the Nam Khan River passing farmland and local villages. The river is high in the wet season, and calm in the dry season. Shortly before reaching the town, you will meet your transport back to the hotel for the night. Overnight in Luang Prabang. (B,L,-)
Approximately: 1.5 hours cycling, 1 hour elephant riding, 1 hour boat trip, 2 hours kayaking, 15 minutes transfer
Your day commences with a short cycling trip to the dock in order to cross the mighty Mekong River to Ban Xieng Man village. Upon arrival you may take some time to look around before continuing onwards to Ban Na Kham village which is well known for its sugarcane farming and also Kaolam – sticky rice and coconut milk cooked in bamboo. After trying this delicious snack we will continue onwards to Ban Houay Tan, an ethnic Khmu village. Here a traditional Lao lunch will be prepared for you by a local cook.
After enjoying lunch you will continue cycling until Ban Chan Neu. Here, you will see how pottery is still made using traditional Lao techniques before continuing onwards to Ban Pak Loung and arriving at Hoy Kue lodge where you will stay the night. There will be time before sunset to swim in Hoy Kue waterfall right next to the lodge. Overnight in Hoy Kue lodge. (B/L/D)

Note: A support vehicle is not included in the 3 days cycling/trekking trip, but one can be arranged on request.
After enjoying breakfast at the lodge you will head off cycling through rice paddy fields on your way to Ban Na. Here, you stop for a short break before continuing onwards to Ban Somsisomphou village. After lunch at the village, you will leave your bike and start trekking through rice fields to a forest. You will continue on trekking for around three hours to Ban Phou Luang Tai, a Hmong village. Here you stay with a local family in their house overnight, which offers a truly amazing insight into how another culture lives. Overnight in Hmong homestay (B/L/D)
Approximately: 3 hours cycling and 3 hours trekking
The trek continues through the forest to Ban Houay Pong village, inhabited by the Khmu minority. Here you can relax and enjoy a traditional lunch with a local family. The trek then brings you to Muang Kham village, where the villagers harvest riverweed which is dried out, seasoned and fried to make a tasty snack. From here, you take a 20 minute boat ride back to Luang Prabang. Overnight in Luang Prabang. (B/L/-)

On day 6 you will have time to spend at your leisure in the beautiful town of Luang Prabang, before your transfer for the airport for your departure flight. (B/-/-)
