Upon arrival in Siem Reap airport, you are welcomed by tour guide and have a transfer to your hotel.
In the late afternoon you have a short transfer to walk up the top of Bakheng Hill where you will have bird’s-eye view Angkor Wat and Western Baray in the sunset.
Overnight in Siem Reap.
You rise up early in the morning for an interesting ride by TukTuk to enjoy the sunrise at Angkor Wat and return back to hotel for breakfast.
Tuktuk is also your mean of transport for full day trip. You first visit the South Gate of Angkor Thom Complex, including some of the Angko’s most important monuments: the Bayon temple, the Terrace of Elephants and the terrace of the Leper King. The Bayon, a forest of heads, was the King’s state temple. The terrace of elephants was used to be a base for the king’s grand audience hall. Lunch at local restaurant.
In the afternoon, you will visit the amazing Ta prohm temple, which has been deliberately left as it was discovered. You the visit the most perfect Khmer temple: the Angkor Wat. It has proved that the Khmer art had reached its highest glory in the 12th century.
Overnight in Siem Reap
The excursion today commence with a 60km drive to the remote Beng Mealea temple through the typical Khmer countryside. There is a lot to see in the approximately 2½ hours drive as it takes you through lively villages and along kilometers of rice paddies. Beng Mealea is located inside a jungle and built as a Hindu temple. The unrestored temple is in fairy ruinous state but still maintain all its mystery and charm, a prime example of Angkor’s jungle temple. Your lunch is served at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon you will visit the floating village of Kampong Pluk. In the village, most of the houses are on stilts of about 6m or 7m high built within the floodplain of the Tonle Sap. The villagers are primarily Khmer and have about 3000 inhabitants between them. Flooded mangrove forest surrounds the area and is home to a variety of wild life including crab-eating macaques. After enjoying the beautiful sunset on Tonle Sap Lake, you have a transfer back to Siem Reap.
Overnight in Siem Reap
Today is free at your leisure till having a transfer to the airport for departure flight.
