Land at Yangon International Airport in the morning. Meet & greet by your English speaking guide and transfer to visit the magnificent Buddha at Chauk Htat Gyi, take a photo stop at the Karaweik Hall, a ‘Hamsa-bird’ shaped floating barge on Kandawgyi (Royal) Lake. Complete your first day in Myanmar with an extended visit to one of the world’s most spectacular monument, the Shwedagon Pagoda.
Shwedagon Pagoda – One of Buddhism’s most sacred sites, is adorned with 27 metric tons of gold leaf, along with thousands of diamonds and other gems, and is believed to enshrine eight hairs of the Gautama Buddha as well as relics of three former Buddha’s.
After the tour return back to the hotel and free at leisure.
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive through BAGO to Kinpun Base Camp (foot of Kyaikhtiyo-194km-5hrs). Along the way to Bago, you’ll enjoy the country side atmospheric views.
Kyaiktiyo Pagoda – A well-known Buddhist pilgrimage site in Mon State, Burma. It is a small pagoda built on the top of a granite boulder covered with gold leaves pasted on by devotees. According to legend, the Golden Rock itself is precariously perched on a strand of the Buddha’s hair. The balancing rock seems to defy gravity, as it perpetually appears to be on the verge of rolling down the hill. The rock and the pagoda are at the top of Mt. Kyaiktiyo. It is the third most important Buddhist pilgrimage site in Burma after the Shwedagon Pagoda and the Mahamuni Pagoda. A glimpse of the “gravity defying” Golden Rock is believed to be enough of an inspiration for any person to turn to Buddhism.
Continue to Kyaikhtiyo (The Golden Rock) a step and rough 11km road to upper level point, it drive with open trucks (No Roof).The journey made sitting on benches in the truck which are very crowed and very uncomfortable and final stage level have to walk about 4 km by narrow paths which 500 m to Golden Rock. As your choice, you can be carried in chairs by four strong porters, an Extra cost will US$16 per pax. Luggage will be carried by porters. On your arrival, get breathing with fresh air and watching the sunset or down at this important pilgrimage site. Check-in to the hotel and time to relax.
Breakfast at the hotel. If time permit, on the way we are going to visit Bago – the ancient Mon Capital located about 80 km north- west of Yangon. On our sightseeing highlights tour you will see Shwemawdaw Pagoda, Shwethalyaung – the world’s most beautiful reclining Buddha
Shwethalyaung Buddha – Legend has it that this gorgeous reclining Buddha was built by the Mon king Mgadeikpa in the 10th century. Measuring 180ft long and 53ft high, the monuments little finger alone extends 10ft. Following the destruction of Bago in 1757, the huge Buddha was overgrown by jungle and not rediscovered until 1881, when a contractor unearthed it while building the Yangon–Bago railway line. After the tour transfer to Yangon and check-in to the hotel for relax.
