Day 1: Welcome to Vietnam’s Final Frontier | Dong Hoi Arrival – Phong Nha
Xin Chao and welcome to Dong Hoi! Upon arrival to the airport or train station, a Topas representative will welcome you before heading straight to Chay Lap Farmstay near the entrance to Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park.
The day is at leisure to discover the area on your own.

Day 2: Explore Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park | Chay Lap Farmstay – Paradise Cave – Tram Village
Wake up this morning with a piping hot breakfast before exploring Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park. Start at a semi-wild enclosure and learn about the critically endangered Ha Tinh Langurs. Head further into the jungle and mountains towards 8 Ladies Cave, a significant piece of history during the Second Indochina War when American bombs ravaged the area.
By mid-morning, make your way to Paradise Cave, a 31km long cave discovered in 2005. Wander through passageways and impressive cave formations before stopping in Chay Lap Village for lunch beside the river.
After lunch, cycle through Chay Lap and Tram Villages, catching a glimpse of local life before returning to the entrance of Phong Nha Ke Bang, where a car will return you to Chay Lap Farmstay and Resort around 16:30.

Distance and activities: 1h drive – 2h caving (540 steps) – 1.5h cycling
Day 3: Village Life from the Son River | Xuan Son – Xuan Tien – Gia Tinh – Gia Hung – Lien Trach
See a typical morning in the countryside of Vietnam at Xuan Son market, watching locals go about their business and observing the types of products available in the area. Then, board your boat for the day and cruise to Xuan Tien Village to learn about local fish farming practices with Black Carp and Phong Nha eel.
Continue cruising down the river to Gia Tinh Village, and wander through the village on a guided tour, visiting a craft house where locals make handmade rattan items. You’ll even be able to put your skills to the test and try it yourself!
Next, the boat will take you to Gia Hung Village, the location of one of the most impressive churches in Vietnam due to its mixture of elements from both local and Western architecture. A short walk away lies the village where many families bake different types of rice cakes, which you will learn how to do as well.
Lunch is served on the boat as it sails back to Lien Trach, giving you time to swim and relax in the Son River. Afterwards, the boat docks at Ha Mon Boat Station, where you will grab a bicycle and cycle back to Phong Nha through rural farming villages.

Day 4: Kayaking Adventure | Phong Nha – Ngon Rao – Vuc Cheo – Trooc Village
Head to remote Ngon Rao Village between 7:30-8:00 this morning for a kayaking adventure down mountain streams, around 18km north of Phong Nha. Paddle from Ngon Rao until you reach Vuc Cheo, stopping for a tour of the fruit orchards, pepper plantations, ginger farms, and turmeric gardens in Trooc Village.
Take a dip in the natural hot springs and enjoy a BBQ lunch with families in the area before returning to Chay Lap Farmstay. The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure.

Day 5 - Time to Say Good-bye | Phong Nha/Dong Hoi Departure
Enjoy the last day as you see fit before your transfer to Dong Hoi Domestic Airport or south towards Hue for onward booked travel.
